Project name: Last mile distribution

• Last mile delivery costs are substantial – comprising 53% overall. And with the growing iniquitousness of “free shipping” customers is less willing to foot a delivery fee, forcing retailers and logistics partners to shoulder the cost.

• We at Just Buy improved our technology to find a nearby solution in getting the costs bundled up by reducing & adding few action points.

• We build an application which assigns pin code wise loading factors FIFO & LIFO wise at the Sorting & Last mile delivery loading activity. In 20% of cases line haul plays a role as “last mile delivery vehicle” before it reached regional DC / Area DC. Really without technology logistic can’t achieve its excellences.

• Bikers were given milk run activity with one 407 vehicle as relay team. Really it increased by 45% of km travelled by delivery personals by adding virtual delivery van which acts as a virtual spoke.

• Roadrunner logistic company & Swiggy concept were amended and applied as forward last mile delivery in FMCG industry which helped reduce the delivery cost.

Project name: Augmenting WMS & Inventory Movement Blueprint

• Inventory BIN capacity & Location management under piece pick operation at warehouse with blue collar team working for us, mainly FMCG sector inventory movement is spelled as carton-in carton-out operations. Enhancing the blueprint helped business run at its smarter pace. All FMCG products MOQ were changed to pieces from pack off.
• Bagging & De-bagging is activity carried in Line haul and parcel movements to trace the parcel, we implemented the same concept through STN and routed through 3PL partners. This helped us simplify VAT before GST got live.
• During my joining into Just buy, found that ASN & PO monitoring was not done. I was taken for a surprise that ASN does not exist in Just Buy Supply Chain ERP. Got the root fixed by helping our tech department write script and we went live in 15 days. This was really important as all market place dealer has to deliver the product to the mapped warehouse within the stipulated time or else the CPO will get cancelled, faced a lot of music during the initial phase.
• BIN Capacity and Location Management: This is very general topic now days; however it was not general during my joining into Just buy. The company model was totally different from its normal process carried out by logistic company in market. Can you believe we had FMCG piece return back to warehouse, it was challenging to manage FIFO, Manufacturing date movement, Expiry dates and Damage inventory holding at warehouse, remember also you have to keep Food & Beverages apart from other FMCG products (Rin, Washing powder) which emits spell.
